I am not one to gloat over the misfortunes of others, let alone self-inflicted misfortunes but I will say here that I am one of the few Nigerians who are glad that the degrading, immoral, depraved, corrupt show called Big
Brother Africa has come to an end. (Though I know many who will call for my head for branding the show immoral; I am sure there are some who are whining now that the uncensored porn game is over.) But like I said, I am happy it has ended. The main reason I am happy it has come to an end is that we will get some rest from the antics, expose, sex and confessions of one of Nigeria’s representatives in the House, Beverly Osu. For a start, I will tell her ‘ntoooooorrr’; if she thought she will use her sex acts with almost every willing male in the House to help her win, I am sure she will now know that she was taken for a ride. I also heard that her mother was actually planning a welcome party for her when she comes home with the $300,000 prize money. Will the party still hold? Only Mama Bev will tell us. I know that in spite of widespread condemnation, most Nigerian guys couldn’t wait to get back home, lock themselves in their rooms and stay glued to their TV sets as the Housemates treated the whole world to their porn and sex antics, all in a bid to outdo one another in the quest for the cash. But in the end, I feel sad for Beverly for cheapening herself and allowing that South African Rasta man ‘bang’ her for free and now, he has gone back home to his woman while she will live with the shame, that is if she thinks it was a shame on her part. She couldn’t keep her pants on for the sake of dignity and has portrayed the image of Nigerian girls as being wayward, the type of girls that any man anywhere can just sleep with even in public. Forget the half-hearted denials that she and Angelo did not actually have sex. Who are they deceiving? A friend of mine who is a journalist in South Africa sent me a message the other day and he narrated how popular Angelo has become for opening shagging a Nigerian girl on TV. What a shame! What if her kids and their friends in the future surf the Internet and find these pictures and video of hers? Will she be there to explain to everyone that Angelo did not put his ‘thing’ into her ‘thing?’ Even in former BBA shows, Nigerian representatives never showed such lack of decorum and self-debasement. Even so called ‘bad girl’ Karen Igho who won the show did not condescend to such despicable acts all in the name of, like one staunch Bev supporter called it, being herself. We are a people known for our high morals but Beverly Osu and her likes, even her supporters here, including her mother who claimed she is so proud of her daughter, have thrown them into the mud. So, that Angelo guy just banged our girl for free? I rest my case.
