The holidays have been known over time as a time to give, and Rihanna is not left out. She is indeed in the spirit of giving. The Unapologetic singer donated $1.75 million (N274,837,500) to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados, by way of three pieces of hospital equipment.
The donation came from the Clara Lionel Foundation, named for her grandparents Lionel Brathwaite and
the late Clara Brathwaite. To Rihanna’s fanbase, Clara Brathwaite is known as “Gran Gran Dolly.” The Barbados bred singer often shares tweets about her late grandmother, who passed away in June following a battle with cancer.
Rihanna, her mother Monica Fenty and grandpa Lionel visited the hospital Saturday where the radiotherapy wing was renamed The Clara Brathwaite Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine.
“I believe that this will have a huge impact on the people of Barbados,” said the 24-year-old pop star. “This was all done in effort to save lives or at least extend it and I thank you all for being a part of it.”
Great work Riri am loving you more! Rihanna sure is unapologetically benevolent.#WORD#
