Rihanna has an important message for the world at this festive season.
In the spirit of the season, Rihanna gave out $1.75m to to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in her native Barbados to honour her late grandmother Clara Braithwaite affectionately called Gran Gran Dolly.
During a special presentation attended by Rihanna, her mother Monica Fenty, and her grandfather Lionel, Rihanna thanked the hospital CEO Dr Dexter James for facilitating the donation.
“This was my way of giving back to Barbados, in a form of philanthropy, by assisting the QEH in its continued modernization program,” Rihanna said. “I believe that this will have a huge impact on the people of Barbados. This was all done to save lives or at least extend them.”
Riri’s Christmas holiday was however marred by a trespasser who reports say generally looked harmless, but probably got too close for her to feel safe. Police had since taken up the matter, but Riri thought it was best to leave.
She tweeted her Christmas message yesterday just around the time she was leaving Barbados.
“It is most important to be happy, eliminate negativity around you this holiday season…2013 is way too futuristic for the same weak shit,” Rihanna tweeted.
I could read her message over and over again; it’s a call to action, something we all have to do to have a fabulous 2013.
