The history of the fabric- ankara is traced to Zimbabwe, its wide acceptance and usage growing by the day, and seems it will never go into extinction. This has been confirmed by the way and manner many have used
the cheap and colorful African fabric to sew creative designs.

Once upon a time, the ankara fabric was considered as clothing for the poor, but reverse is the case now, with the current trend being using the ankara material to make simple casual clothing and accessories that can be combined with any western attire to suit any occasion.
