Renowned business and financial magazine, Forbes is not done releasing lists. A few weeks ago, the magazine released a list of Africa’s highest earners entertainers and now they’re out with a list of Nigeria’s
richest men. The usual suspects Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola and Mike Adenuga also make it to the list of the world’s richest people.
The list was arrived at based on the value of their shares held in quoted companies, the size and market share of their companies, the number of companies they own and its assumed value, the market value of their company’s brand and the impact of their companies on the Nigerian economy.
In the recent past, Forbes has faced some criticism over the accuracy of their lists and it would be recalled that earlier in the year, Saudi billionaire prince Alwaleed bin Talal sued Forbes for libel after he claimed the magazine’s valuation of his wealth at $20 billion fell short of the mark by $9.6 billion. Also several Nigerian artistes expressed their disagreement with the list of richest African artistes when it was released a few weeks ago.
The accuracy of this list remains to be seen in the coming weeks ahead, in the meantime check out Forbes current list of the Nigeria’s richest men:
