The Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) has announced the ‘Madiba Africa Vision Award’ as a new category. This is in honor of the former South African president, Nelson Mandela. The organizers of the
biggest movie event in Africa released this information via Twitter over the weekend.

The Madiba Africa Vision Award will be given at the discretion of the jury to a film that captures the essence and vision of the category. This special category begins effective AMAA 2014.

AMAA annually celebrates Africa’s movie makers and are best known for their ability to host top Hollywood stars in the continent. The aim is to bring together film makers from across the world in one venue to discuss the possibilities of uplifting Africa’s film industry.
